About

Founded by Bishop Aloysius J. Wycislo in 1983, A New Genesis Community is a Public Association of the Faithful in the Catholic Church created to be resurrection people who support one another personally and in ministry to the church and the world.  We are blessed with three types of membership: vowed religious, married, and single persons.  We take seriously the mission of the Catholic Church and carry out our ministry with the support and encouragement of the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay.

Our History
 Our Symbol

On February 18, 1983, eight members publicly professed their religious vows in the presence of Bishop Wycislo,
Father Willard Van De Loo, Vicar for Religious, families and friends.

The community began to accept married and single women in 1994.

In 2015, ANG reached a landmark with the profession of vows by Sr Mary Peters, the first Sister in our community who also embraces the roles of mother, widow, and grandmother.

As of February 2020, the Community has 25 members—
21 Sisters, 1 married woman, and 3 single women.

ANG Symbol

The sunrise symbolizes a new beginning.

The cross reminds us that each day

we center our lives in Jesus.

The butterfly is our sign of

transformation to a new life in Christ.

Our Vision

Members of A New Genesis Community are empowered by the Spirit to be Resurrection people who support one another personally and in ministry to the church and the world.

From its very beginning, A New Genesis Community has been moved by the Spirit to become a community to minister within the church and the world.  We identify our charism as radical openness to the Spirit.
